About us
Since 1993
A Czech family importer bringing in food from family producers since 1993 – food it would feed its own dog.
Why a family company from Opava became a brand you want on your shelves.
The year is 1993. Ing. Gerhard Stein founds STAZ s.r.o. in Opava. His reason is simple and uncompromising — the Czech market lacks quality food that he would be willing to feed his own dog. Instead of waiting for someone to make it, he seeks out family producers in Italy, Germany, Canada and Iceland and starts importing what no one in the Czech Republic could offer.
Over thirty years, one man’s vision and a single crate have grown into a company run today by the second generation of his family. It is the exclusive importer of FirstMate and Nuova Fattoria and distributes its own brands, Topstein and Farm Fresh, to several European countries. A million kilograms of food pass through our warehouse in Opava every year — and for you that means one thing: when you order from us, we have it here.
And it holds inside the company too: our people feed their dogs and cats only what we supply to you. It is also our internal quality filter — if we don’t trust a product ourselves, it won’t reach you or your customers.
“With the right food, your dog no longer needs to go to the vet.”
Ing. Gerhard Stein, founder of STAZ s.r.o.
